The Next Date Update option in the application has a very significant impact on the scheduling of Routines.
For a Routine there are 3 ways that the Next Date can be calculated after the completion of a Work Order.
Standard
When this option is selected, any Work Order carried out will follow it's interval and schedule regardless of when the actual calibration was carried out or when the Work Order was issued.
Therefore if you have a Routine that is due on the 24/04/2015 with an Interval of 6 months then even if the calibration is carried out on the 10/02/2015, the Next Date will be 24/10/2015. If another calibration is carried out after that, the Next Date of this Routine will be 24/04/2016 and so on.
Issued Date
When this option is selected, any Work Order carried out will base the Next Date on the date the Work Order was issued + the interval. So if a Routine was due on the 25/09/2015 and the Work Order was issued on the 30/09/2015 with an Interval of 3 months then the Next Date for the Routine will be the issued date + the interval, in this case it would be 30/12/2015.
Conducted Date
When this option is selected, any Work Order carried out will base the Next Date on the date the Work Order was conducted + the interval. So if a Routine was due on the 20/06/2015 with an Interval of 6 months and the Work Order for this Routine was issued and carried out on the 20/05/2015, then the Next Date for the Routine will be the conducted date + the interval, in this case the Next Date for the Routine would be the 20/11/2015.
A default Next Date Update value can be set for Instruments, Loops and Plant Items from the Work Order tab in the Configuration screen of the application.
To set a default Next Date Update value go ahead and follow the steps below:
- Select the Configuration screen under the Admin section
- Select the Work Order tab
- Select the Edit button
- Select a default Next Date Update for your type of device
- Select the Save button
Once saved the default Next Date Update selection that you have made in the Configuration will be used for new Routines that are set up.
Please note that even though you have selected a default Next Date Update value, the Next Date Update can still be edited for new and existing Routines and can be changed to a Next Date Update type other than what you have set as the default.
